Echinacea Pictures

As promised, we have published some pictures of Echinacea angustifolia growing in central/western Kansas.  The first group of images was taken to dispute the claims of over harvesting being made by several wild crafting opponents, and show the large populations available here for "responsible harvesting."  The second group of photos was taken to show that responsible harvesting of wild Echinacea angustifolia have virtually no detrimental impact on plant survival, and in fact, causes plant roots to grow larger through growth regeneration.  By "thinning" our fields once every two years, we are witnessing increased density in plant populations, as well as, greater root size and yields.  We believe our harvesting method is the key to successful wild management of Echinacea angustifolia in Kansas.
